Born in Naples, winner of important competitions, including the “Mattia Battistini” in Rieti, at a very young age Daniele Zanfardino made his debut as Lindoro in L’Italiana in Algeri in Osimo. At the beginning of his career he was invited by the “Accademia Rossini” in Pesaro to sing as Libenkof in Il viaggio a Reims and he took part in the production of Il Trionfo delle belle by Stefano Pavese at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.
He has since then established an international career, performing regularly in some prestigious opera houses and festivals, including Théatre Royal de la Monnaie de Bruxelles, Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Opéra Royal de Wallonie de Liège, Grand Théatre de Genève, Rossini Festival in Bad Wilbad, Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Teatro Massimo V.Bellini in Catania, Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Teatro Massimo in Palermo.
During the 2011/12 season he performed L’equivoco stravagante in Basilea and at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie de Liège, Don Pasquale at the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, Silvia Colasanti’s Le Metamorfosi at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence (world premiere), Rossini’s Petite messe solemnelle at the Lingotto in Turin.
The past season brought him to perform in important productions, including La scala di seta (Dormont) and Il turco in Italia ( Albazar) at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Il viaggio a Reims (Belfiore) at the Théatre Royal de la Monnaie de Bruxelles, L’ incoronazione di Poppea at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin and at the Théatre Royal de la Monnaie de Bruxelles (under the baton of René Jacobs), Il ritorno di ulisse in patria at the Grand Théatre de Genève, La cambviale di matrimonio at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wilbad, L’Italiana in Algeri (Lindoro) at the Teatro Regio in Turin. Il barbiere di Siviglia, (Conte d’Almaviva) at the Teatro Massimo V.Bellini in Catania, at the Teatro Verdi in Sassari and at the Tuscia Opera Festival, L’inimico delle donne (Si-Sin) at the the Opéra Royal de Wallonie de Liège, La scala di seta (Dorvil) in Potsdam, Il turco in Italia ( Albazar) at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Falstaff (Fenton) at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, La vergine dei dolori by Scarlatti at the Grand Théatre de Bordeaux, at the Théatre Royal de la Monnaie de Bruxelles and at the Cité de la musique de Paris (under the baton of Rinaldo Alessandrini), La scala di seta at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, La Cenerentola at the Teatro Verdi in Sassari.
In concert he has sung Mozart’s Requiem in Busseto, Haendel ‘s Messiah with the Orchestra Haydn of Bolzano, Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Turcoing and Nicosia, the Carmina Burana at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste.
Among his future plans are L’Italiana in Algeri at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania and at the the Opéra Royal de Wallonie de Liège, as well as La scala di seta at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
