Cristina Baggio, soprano, was born in Italy where she received her doctorate degree summa cum laude in Pedagogy with a major in Psychology and concurrently earned a doctorate diploma with full honors in Lyric Singing and in Vocal Chamber Music. She continued her musical studies in New York, Philadelphia and Salzburg. She is the Winner (First Prize) of different International Awards: Armel Opera Competition and Festival (Best Female Performer 2010), “54th As.Li.Co. Competition-Young European Lyric Singers”, “17th Iris Adami Corradetti International Lyric Competition”(Arrigo Boito Prize), “32nd Toti Dal Monte International Lyric Competition”, “9th Mario Del Monaco International Lyric Competition”, “13th Giuseppe Di Stefano International Lyric Competition”(Special Prize) and finalist at the Liceau Theatre in Barcelona for the “Vinias International Lyric Competition”. She got special Grants: Richard-Wagner Stipendienstiftung” (Bayreuth’s Festival, Germany); Singers Development Foundation, (NewYork, USA); Verdi Opera Studio (Parma, Italy); New Bulgarian University (Sofia, Bulgaria). Working with Conductors such as Jeffrey Tate, Gianandrea Noseda, Yves Abel, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Johnatan Webb, Ottavio Dantone, Giancarlo Andretta, Michael Guttler, Andrea Marcon, G. Tourniaire and Directors on Stage such as Pierluigi Pizzi, Mario Martone, Daniele Abbado, J.L.Martinoty, Italo Nuziata, Silviu Purcărete, Michele Placido and Gigi Proietti; she performed in many National and International Theaters: “Teatro San Carlo di Napoli”, “La Fenice di Venezia”, “Teatro Regio di Parma”, “Teatro Nazionale dell’Opera di Roma”, “Teatro Filarmonico di Verona”, National Opera Theatre of Sofia (Bulgaria), Philadelphia (USA), Abu Dhabi (Emirates), Liceau of Barcellona (Spain) and others.
